The Michigan Wine Collaborative will host the second annual Taste Michigan Invades Eastern Market on June 21, 2026, in Detroit's Eastern Market district. Wineries from across the state will gather. The date falls on Father's Day.

Visitors can taste wines crafted from Michigan-grown grapes and chat with winemakers. Producers from the state's wine-growing areas will pour whites, rosés, reds, and sparkling varieties, according to Wine Industry Advisor.

"This partnership allows us to introduce Michigan wine to new audiences in one of the most exciting food and cultural hubs in the state," said Emily Dockery, Executive Director of the Michigan Wine Collaborative. "We are excited to host the second annual event on Father's Day to provide families a fun and memorable way to celebrate while exploring wines from across Michigan."

The group is teaming up with Cool Ass Detroit Stuff and the Canfield Consortium. Dockery explained this shows what mission-driven groups can accomplish when they work together.

The Eastern Market gathering will launch a two-week series of Taste Michigan Invades experiences around Southeast Michigan, with curated tastings, restaurant specials, and retail happenings scattered throughout.

A second gathering takes place on June 27 at the Michigan Firehouse Museum in Ypsilanti. The Michigan Wine Festival will bring more producers to meet drinkers from surrounding areas.

Restaurants, wine bars, and shops can join by hosting Michigan wine-focused experiences tied to the events. Ideas include wine dinners, tasting menus, by-the-glass winery takeovers, retail tasting sessions, and meet-the-winemaker gatherings.

Wineries wanting to participate must reach out by April 21 at info@michiganwinecollaborative.com. Restaurants and retailers have until June 21.

Details about tickets, VIP packages, and which wineries will attend will arrive soon. Check the Michigan Wine Collaborative, Taste Michigan, and Cool Ass Detroit Stuff for updates.
