Food trucks roll back into Cadillac Square when the annual Street Eats program kicks off Monday, April 6. Vendors will serve customers every weekday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., continuing until early October.
More than 2,500 people show up each day. The program attracts food trucks and local pop-ups that feed workers, residents, and visitors who come through the area.
This marks the 14th season. Several new vendors will appear this year, including Detroit Panzerotti Co., which makes Detroit-style pizza, calzones, steak sandwiches, and Italian subs.
CIA Cheesesteak Institute of America and Island Noodles are coming back. Greg Arnoldy, who founded CIA Cheesesteak Institute of America Food Truck, said the program feels like family.
"The customers are great, and the Downtown Detroit Partnership team that runs the program is incredibly supportive," Arnoldy said in a statement, according to WXYZ. "They really work to help vendors succeed, and it's always a great experience serving the downtown crowd."
Different vendors will appear each day during the opening week. Cousins Maine Lobster and TRU Pizza Co. arrive Monday. Tuesday brings Big Bo's Grill, Curt Got Crabs, Fun Food Express, Gambino's Catering Wood Fired Pizza, Grand Traverse Pie Co., Los Dos Amigos Taco Truck, and Twisted Street BBQ.
Busta Dawgs, Conchys Empanadas, Little Bite Big Taste, Sonny's Hamburgers, and Wing Snob set up shop on Wednesday. Los Dos Amigos Taco Truck, The Great Greek, The Rolling Stoves, and TRU Pizza Co. take over on Thursday.
Friday wraps up the first week. Busta Dawgs, Island Noodles, and The Great Greek will serve that day. People can find a complete schedule of participating trucks at DowntownDetroit.org/events.
