The Sex Pistols are set to take the stage at the Fillmore Detroit on October 3, 2026. This is part of a tour across 20 cities in North America. The change follows guitarist Steve Jones's wrist injury, marking their first Detroit performance in over 20 years, their last being in 2003.

Fans can look forward to the band playing their complete 1977 album, "Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols." Announced on March 2, 2026, this U.S. tour celebrates the band's 50th anniversary.

The lineup features three original members: guitarist Steve Jones, bassist Glen Matlock, and drummer Paul Cook. Frank Carter, a notable punk musician from the U.K., joins them. Johnny Rotten, a founding member, will not be part of this tour.

The Detroit concert was originally scheduled for 2025. Tickets from that date will be honored for the new show. Remaining tickets will be available on Ticketmaster starting Friday morning.

The last time the punk icons electrified Detroit was on August 16, 1996, at the Cobo Arena during the Filthy Lucre Tour. Back then, they played hits like "Anarchy in the UK" and "God Save the Queen."

Turbulence often surrounded their past tours. Their 1977 "Never Mind the Bans" tour faced many cancellations. The 2003 'Piss Off' Tour also saw the Detroit date get axed.

This tour marks the band's return to North America over 20 years after the 2003 cancellation. Their history of memorable shows includes 1978 performances, like the one at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco.

Fans who missed them before can now experience the band's lasting musical influence.
