Bronze Door shut down for good on Dec. 31, 2025. The eatery had operated for five years at 123 Kercheval Ave. in Grosse Pointe Farms. Come early spring 2026, different owners will launch something new at this location.
Joe Vicari Restaurant Group broke the news Wednesday through social posts. "Thank you for your patronage and loyalty to the Bronze Door. Our last day of service is December 31, 2025," the post read according to the Detroit Free Press. "A new, exciting concept will be launched in early spring of 2026, under new ownership. We look forward to seeing you soon!"
Mort Meisner runs Mort Meisner Associates. His company speaks for the group. He verified the closing and said plans are moving ahead for what comes next.
Doors first opened in late summer 2022. Joe Vicari Restaurant Group had purchased The Hill Seafood and Chop House back in September 2020. They transformed it into Bronze Door. That same period brought two other acquisitions: Buc'eez Pub became Barleycorn's Public House but has since shuttered, while Triple Nickel in Birmingham turned into Birmingham Pub.
The name honored an old establishment at this very address. That place ran from the 1960s through the early 1980s. Waiters wore black-tie. Menus came with gold tassels. Families booked tables for proms, anniversaries, and big celebrations.
Over 90 years, this location has housed many eateries. Bronze Door's menu featured classic American dishes.
Nation's Restaurant News ranked Joe Vicari Restaurant Group as the 22nd largest in America during 2023. They operate more than 20 establishments. This includes several Andiamo Italian spots and Joe Muer Seafood locations throughout metro Detroit.
October brought an announcement about Andiamo Italian Chophouse opening inside JW Marriott Detroit Water Square. Construction continues downtown on the 25-story glass structure. It sits where Joe Louis Arena once stood.
The Statler closed in 2025 too. This downtown Detroit bistro served French-American cuisine. Their website called the shutdown temporary.
