Patricia Doe, 60, won $100,000 playing the Michigan Lottery Super Raffle. She and her husband initially forgot about the tickets. They purchased them back in November, then misplaced the pair until weeks later.

The winning ticket bore the number 065230. Officials drew it Nov. 19.

Doe purchased two raffle tickets at Admiral Petroleum on 542 North Wayne Road in Westland. She and her husband decided to try their luck.

"My husband and I liked the odds of the Super Raffle game, so we bought two tickets," Doe told lottery officials, according to CBS News. "We forgot we had the tickets, so it wasn't until recently that we checked our raffle numbers on MichiganLottery.com."

Their first raffle number won $100. Not bad. But the second ticket hit $100,000.

"We took the ticket to the store to double check it, but it wasn't until we went to a lottery office to have them check it that we believed we really won," she said, per Click on Detroit. "It was exhilarating."

Twelve people claimed $100,000 prizes in that drawing. Doe was one of them. The payout represents the third-highest prize tier in Super Raffle, which offers a top prize reaching $6 million.

Doe visited lottery headquarters to claim her prize. She'll finish home renovations with the money and save what remains.

Super Raffle operates like a traditional raffle. Players purchase numbered tickets for drawings. Each ticket receives its own unique number, which then enters the pool for various prize amounts.
