The Detroit Pistons boosted Big Sean's position with the team. He's now Creative Director of Global Experience, as per Heavy. The six-time GRAMMY-nominated artist used to be Creative Director of Innovation.

This new title? It hands Big Sean wider control over how the Pistons connect with fans across the world. His work now covers international partnerships, online content, and strategies that get fans excited on different platforms.

"It's been an honor to serve the Pistons community, and stepping into this expanded role as Creative Director of Global Experience allows me to do it on an even bigger scale," Big Sean said, as reported by Heavy. "Detroit has always been rich with talent and culture, and my mission is to keep opening doors and hiring our city's creatives to shine alongside one of the most iconic franchises in sports."

Born Sean Michael Leonard Anderson, the Detroit native watched the team as a kid. His first work with the Pistons involved helping design merchandise, creating in-game moments, and building programs for the community.

Tom Gores owns the team. He discussed this partnership back in 2020. "Sean is an accomplished artist, philanthropist, and entrepreneur," Gores said, as shared by Heavy. "We share a common desire to use the power of sports and entertainment to improve our community and make a positive impact on people's lives."

The rapper has finished several projects since he started working with the Pistons. Don Life practice jerseys? Done. The 2022-23 "St. C's" Nike NBA City Edition Uniforms? Complete. The "Detroit Kickback" announcement with StockX? That too.

The team and Big Sean introduced "Creatives Across Continents" on World Basketball Day. This program asks designers and artists worldwide to make work inspired by Detroit Basketball. Chosen artists will partner with Big Sean and build pieces for a retail collection dropping in 2026.

Big Sean will tackle projects involving international work, storytelling, and brand experiences on multiple platforms, according to Heavy. That might mean curated content from around the world, playlist partnerships connected to team events, and bigger merchandise lines.

His community work through the Sean Anderson Foundation stays at the center of who he is. He teamed up with Usher recently on a program that helps young creators and entrepreneurs in Detroit.

The Pistons and Big Sean will reveal more about this partnership soon. Projects connected to NBA All-Star Weekend, 313 Day, retail collaborations, and fan initiatives are planned for 2026.
