Highway ramps and roads across Metro Detroit will stay shut through late 2026, as per Macomb Daily. Construction crews tackle improvements on I-696, Powell Road, and other key corridors. The work impacts Macomb, Wayne, and Oakland counties.
Westbound I-696 entrance ramps from I-75 to M-10 won't reopen until late 2026 because of a traffic shift. This shutdown covers ramps at Campbell Road, Coolidge Highway, Couzens Avenue, Evergreen Road, and Greenfield Road going both ways. Exit ramps to Bermuda/Mohawk, Coolidge, Greenfield, and Evergreen will also stay blocked during this period.
Powell Road between 30 and a half mile road and 32 Mile Road in Washington Township needs rebuilding work until July 2026. All businesses and properties can still be accessed while the project continues. Drivers should follow posted detours to Van Dyke Avenue, M-53, and Romeo Plank Road.
Fourteen Mile Road between Kelly Road and Gratiot Avenue in Clinton Township and Roseville has one westbound lane. Eastbound traffic can't pass through December. The project repairs the road while keeping businesses accessible.
The Great Lakes Water Authority installs a new 96-inch water transmission main on Dequindre Road between Hamlin Road and Avon Road in Shelby Township. Work continues through Dec. 31. Drivers must follow posted detours around the construction zone.
Several I-94 projects hit Wayne and Macomb counties. Beech Daly Road under I-94 stays closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day until late December for bridge repair. The westbound ramp to Pelham will be closed until Dec. 19 because of bridge work, while the eastbound ramp to northbound M-39/Southfield has one lane open until Dec. 19 for ramp repair.
The northbound I-275 ramp to westbound M-14 remains closed for construction through Dec. 30. Eastbound and westbound US-12 will have one lane open from Greenfield to I-94 until late 2025. Crews work on paving and road repair.
The Clinton River Trail in Rochester has been closed west of the Macomb Orchard Trail and Dequindre Road because of a washout. A posted detour guides trail users around the damaged section.
