LegaSea Aquarium & The Reptarium will team up with Emagine Theatres next week. Free animal encounters will take place at two Michigan locations to celebrate Walt Disney Animation Studios' "Zootopia 2." Reptiles arrive in theater lobbies. Guests can meet them before the movie starts.
The encounters happen at Emagine Rochester Hills from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25. Another session runs at Emagine Macomb from noon-2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28. Guests interact with critters, then head in to catch the film.
"Zootopia 2" stars two characters voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman. They hunt down the truth behind a mysterious reptile who disrupts the city. The movie carries a PG rating and opens in theaters nationwide on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
This partnership blends the Utica aquarium's mission of reptile, wildlife, and animal education with moviegoing. Real animals allow families to meet creatures that inspire the film's characters.
LegaSea Aquarium & The Reptarium houses fresh and saltwater fish. Aquatic life includes stingrays, garden eels, coral, sea urchins, and lobsters.
Both groups run a contest through November 24. Guests can visit the theater chain's Instagram page at instagram.com/emaginetheatres. Winners receive a family-four-pack of tickets to both venues.
Emagine Macomb sits at 15251 23 Mile Road near Hayes Road in Macomb. The Rochester Hills location stands at 200 Barclay Circle north of M-59.
