A new Timberland store opens its doors at 1217 Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit next month. The 1,400-square-foot space marks the brand's first standalone shop this year.
Shoppers will find boots, clothes and outdoor gear when doors open Nov. 14. The store's main draw - their famous waterproof boots - will take center stage. A giant 13-foot Big Boot will catch eyes during the Nov. 15-16 launch party, where staff will add custom touches to purchases.
Until now, Michigan shoppers could only find a dedicated Timberland spot at the Great Lakes Crossing outlets. Most buyers got their boots through other stores across the state.
The brand picked prime real estate in the Traver Building. Steps away from the massive Hudson's Detroit, the location puts Timberland in the heart of downtown's shopping buzz.
Before the main event, fans can hit up Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Centennial Park Oct. 25-26. They'll run a treasure hunt with prizes and let people put their own spin on gear.
This move shows Timberland's growth plans in action. The store joins a wave of big brands on Woodward - Apple, Alo, Tecovas, Gucci, Savage X Fenty, GW Home, and Free People have all staked their claim here.
The store plans special deals and fun stuff for opening weekend. They'll post exact hours and offers as launch day gets near.
