Next month brings Megadoc to The Henry Ford Museum screens. The film tracks Francis Ford Coppola's $120 million sci-fi venture, Megalopolis. Set for September 26 at 7 p.m., this Dearborn showing marks a key point in the museum's year of tributes to the Detroit-born filmmaker, as per News-Herald.

Mike Figgis, who was previously nominated for an Oscar, shot this behind-the-scenes look. Critics at Venice lit up with praise. It's one more win for the museum's deal with Utopia, set to run until 2026.

Through the lens of Megadoc, watchers see how Coppola funded and built his own vision. His sci-fi tale mixes old Rome with tomorrow's world. In a twist on history, he sets the Catilinarian plot in future New York—dubbed "New Rome" for the screen.

Adam Driver takes the lead as an architect. The cast shines with stars: Dustin Hoffman, Jon Voight, and Laurence Fishburne are all charismatic additions. Giancarlo Esposito, Shia LaBeouf, and Aubrey Plaza round out the mix. After its big splash at Cannes' 77th run, the film pulled in $14.3 million across the globe.

This film grew from seeds planted in the 1970s. The mind behind The Godfather Trilogy and Bram Stoker's Dracula stopped by last spring. He shared stories with fans at the museum in April 2025.

More films fill the schedule. Catch The Outsiders September 20. Then Bram Stoker's Dracula is featured on October 17.
