The Fox Theatre in Detroit will host a live YouTube stream this Friday as Jay 'Jeezy' Jenkins wraps up his groundbreaking tour. The stream starts at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time, bringing the first-ever hip-hop orchestra tour to screens worldwide.
Viewers can catch the two-hour performance free on Jeezy's YouTube channel. The Atlanta artist joins forces with The Color of Noize Orchestra, marking two decades since his Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101 release.
"I'm truly grateful to give this moment to my fans everywhere. Whether you couldn't get a ticket or we couldn't make it to your city, this stream is my way of bringing the show to you," said Jeezy according to Global Grind. "You've supported me from day one, and I want everyone—no matter where you are—to feel part of this historic night."
Since it started in June, each show of the 23-city tour has sold out. Conductor Derrick Hodge transforms street anthems into classical masterpieces.
"This is hip-hop and music history in the making," said Leo Bennet, touring partner. "No hip-hop artist has ever taken a production of this magnitude nationwide, and the results have been absolutely magical."
Musical director Adam Blackstone works with Hodge to blend classical elements into the Grammy nominee's debut album. Black-tie crowds fill venues nightly, dressed in everything from crisp suits to glittering evening wear.
The Detroit show opens with DJ Drama at 8:30 p.m. Jeezy takes the stage at 9:05 p.m., with both the live show and stream concluding at 10:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
