After a decade of pouring pints, Draught Horse Brewery & Spirits in Lyon Township will pull its last tap September 13. The business at 57721 Grand River Avenue broke the news to customers on September 3.

A fresh chapter starts soon. The site's next owner will mix things up with a restaurant-brewery combo. They aim to keep current staff who wish to stay put.

"Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for your loyal patronage and support over the past decade," the owners posted on social media according to the Detroit Free Press. "We also want to express our deepest gratitude to our amazing staff—without their dedication, hard work, and passion, none of this would have been possible."

Brad Tiernan launched the restaurant, bar, and brewery back in September 2015. His vision brought both craft beer and spirits to New Hudson, marking ten years this month. Short punchy pours and complex barrel-aged drinks filled glasses through the seasons.

Set on a bustling stretch of Grand River Avenue, the brewery became a meeting point for locals and visitors alike. Its mix of house-made drinks and full kitchen menu drew crowds year after year.

Staff got special praise in the farewell note. "They have truly been the heart and soul of Draught Horse!" read the social media post.

One final bash is in the works. Details remain under wraps for now, but regulars await news of the send-off celebration.

The goodbye message struck a warm note: "From the bottom of our hearts, thank you again for allowing us to be a part of your lives for the past 10 years—it has been an absolute honor to serve this community."

The taps stop flowing September 13, 2025. The timeline for the new restaurant's opening stays unknown, as fresh owners prep their take on the space.
